Once again, Mother Nature has decided to step in and delay progress on the park. Due to all the rain we've had in the last few weeks, there have been about as many days rained out as there have been with crews working. But, progress has been made. Some of the sidewalks have been poured and are curing. Top soil has been delivered.

With April nearly half over and a lake at the northwest corner of the park property, we may be looking at a June date for Phase I completion.

After weeks and weeks with no visible progress being made, February seems to have started a new push toward completion of Phase I of The Ranch/Gables park. In the past two weeks, more and more vehicles and workers have been in evidence. On February 14th, there were nearly a dozen workers' vehicles parked along Rodeo Drive . Currently, the underground utilities are being installed with scheduled completion (per Jeff Bickerstaff on 02/13) by March 1st.

Trenches have been dug, huge trailer-loads of dirt deposited, and Caterpillar machines in a variety of shapes and sizes have been busily moving dirt and shaping the ground to follow the plan. Once the utilities are finished, "the concrete will be going in place followed by all the site amenities. The site amenities include playground equipment, benches and soccer goals and a baseball backstop," Gary Holtman, Parks and Rec. Construction Manager, Core Construction.
